Mrs. Sue Morris

Mrs. Sue Morris, 82, of Sylvester passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Willson Hospice House surrounded by her family. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026 in the Rocky Mount Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sue Morris was born on April 17, 1943, in Toccoa, Georgia to the late George Weaver, Sr. and Alberta Anderson Weaver. She had lived in Worth County most of her life. (Nanny) Sue was the ultimate example of a dedicated wife/mother/grandmother/great grandmother and friend. She was a walking testament of her faith, sharing advice to any and all she felt led to. She never shied away from responsibility and always invited a challenge. A persistent advocate for what was right and wrong, she willfully took on all challengers who thought different. As a Pharmacy Tech for 30 years at CVS she touched countless lives, caring for their medicinal and emotional needs while adding a personal touch of compassion. Mrs. Sue was passionate when it came to cooking, shopping for a deal, and visiting with friends and neighbors. Her two most well-known attributes were her spunk and sass. Her driving philosophy was “Move over, here I come!” while listening to I Can’t Drive 55. She loved her family like no other and will be sorely missed by all that knew her! Survivors include her children, James Morris (Kerry) and Sharon Johnson (Chris); grandchildren Joshua Morris, Michael Johnson, Joseph Morris and Allison Morris; great-grandchildren Shawn Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Taylor Morris, Joni Morris and Jake Morris, and her sister, Shirley Griner; along with numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 41 years, Jim A. Morris; siblings, Faye White, Bill Weaver, Loyd Weaver, Morris Weaver, George "Bug" Weaver, Jr, and Linda Powell. The family would like to thank the staff of Willson Hospice House for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Mrs. Sue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be in her memory to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707. Banks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
