Mr. Larry Spence

On June 19, 2026, Mr. Larry Spence won his race, fulfilling his commission as an Ambassador of Christ. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Banks Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tim Mathews and Dr. Jason Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Poulan Cemetery. Mr. Spence was born in Worth County, GA on May 16, 1948, to the late William "Bill" and Odell Spence. Mr. Spence faithfully served Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Church of God of Prophecy in Poulan, GA over the past 50+ years. He also taught Adult Sunday School there. Referencing 1st Corinthians 13:13 (KJV): "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: But the greatest of these is charity, i.e. love." Mr. Spence understood how God loves and shared this understanding with genuine and complete love to all. To family, friends and countless others, Mr. Spence was simply known as "Pa". Pa retired from M&M Mars in 2007. He was also a meticulous grass cutter. Beginning in 1980, Pa mowed numerous yards in Worth and surrounding counties over a span of 40 years. Pa loved 3G's Auction Company. No matter the time, the weather, the location or how he felt, the infamous Bidder #007 was at every auction held. Pa loved his children more than words can define. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren fully and wholeheartedly. Pa loved and treasured his entire family and his friends near and far. Pa loved his fur baby and sidekick, Buddy. Pa Loved! Profoundly! Mr. Spence is survived by his son, Todd Spence (Sherry); daughter, Stephanie Brown (Mike); grandchildren, Drew Spence (Savanna), Madison Ford (Tripp), Alisha Webb, Abby Thompson; great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Arabelle Barfield; Masyn Spence, and Myles Ford; sister Olivia Rouse; and a host of extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Spence; and 8 siblings. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel. Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.
