Mr. Christopher "Chris" Burton Berry

Mr. Christopher "Chris" Burton Berry, 39, of Sumner, GA., died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the New Life Tabernacle Church Cemetery. The Rev. Justin Gazaway and Rev. Gordon Poole will officiate. Chris was born October 21, 1982 in Augusta, GA to William Earl Berry of Sylvester, Ga., and Kimberly Shell of Dublin, GA. Chris grew up in Poulan, GA. At the age of 16, Chris battled his first round of brain cancer and beat it. He went on to graduate from Gordon Central High in 2002. From there, he received his Associates in Business Management from ABAC. Chris later worked for Dean Tucker Farms as Truck Broker for 18 years. Chris was a man of God and it showed through him and the way he lived. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. In 2011, Chris was blessed with his beautiful wife, Lindsay, and her two girls, Paisley and Addy. Two beautiful girls, that Chris would quickly tell you were his. Two girls that he poured so much love and time into. In 2015, God gave Chris the miracle of a son. One of his greatest blessings, Lofton, or as Chris called him, “Bubby Do” was born in August 2015. These two, together, were advanced block and Lego builders, cartoon watchers, candy crushers, and “my turn” (nature oat cereal) eaters. Chris was so proud to be a Dad. Chris will truly be missed as husband and father. In 2020, Chris’ cancer returned. He would battle this for 2 years, with his amazing wife and caregiver by his side. Lindsay never gave up hope and stayed true to vows down to every word. Survivors include his wife, Lindsay Bradshaw Berry of Sumner; children, Paisley Holley, Addaley Holley, and Christopher Lofton Berry all of Sumner; father, Earl Berry (Kim) of Poulan; mother, Kim Shell of Dublin, GA; siblings, Dustin Berry, Theresa Berry, Garrett Berry, Jessica Bishop, Valen Bishop and John Potter; grandmother, Shirley Berry of Augusta and a maternal grandmother, Elaine Smith; maternal grandparents, Jim Robinson (Carol); mother and father-in-law, Ronnie and Lisa Bradshaw; a host of nieces and nephews. Chris was proceeded in death by his precious paternal grandfather, Rev. William E. Berry in 2019 and a brother, Douglas Dean in 2022.
