Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Lee Marchman

May 8, 1947 - March 25, 2022

Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Lee Marchman, AKA, (Short Chief), 74, of Worth County, died on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Jason Jones will officiate. Mr. Marchman was born on May 8, 1947 in Albany, to the late Grady Lee Marchman and Katie Mae Brooks Walls. He had lived in Worth County most of his life and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Marchman retired from the Sylvester Fire Department, where he served as the Fire Chief for many years, he was also the former Chief of Police for the Sylvester Police Department. Mr. Marchman owned and operated Sylvester Sporting Goods Store for many years with his wife Kathryn. He was a member of the Dixie Prophets and the Southern Majesty Gospel Singing Quartet for 45 years. Mr. Marchman enjoyed fishing, and camping, but most importantly spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of Isabella Baptist Church for over 50 years and was always very active in the community and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Powell Marchman of Worth County; sister-in-law, Annette Graham; brothers-in-law, Gene Powell (Linda), and Ronnie Powell (Cindy); a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Marchman was preceded in death by his in-laws, Bennie and Janie Powell; brothers-in-law, Cecil Powell, Glenn Powell and Wayne Powell . The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home. Please sign our online guest registry at www.banksfh.com.
