Mr. Thomas Rutherford “Boots” Eason, 89, of Poulan died Friday November 26 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church. A native of Worth County, Mr. Eason was the son of the late Thomas Watson and Earnest Shiver Eason. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Mercer School of Law. He was a retired Attorney, Real Estate Broker, Farmer and Minister. Mr. and Mrs. Eason would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 27, 2011. Mr. Eason was a Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy having served during World War II and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Barbara “Bobbie” Dockery Eason of Sylvester; Children, BeBe Bergholm and her husband Norm of Cleveland, GA, Bill Eason, Lon Eason and his wife Debra, Peggy Bowen and her husband Barry all of Sylvester, Paula Douglas and her husband Jody of Dallas, GA, Andy Eason and his wife Robin of Thomasville and Jim Eason and his wife Sarah of Albany; brother, Buford T. Eason of Leesburg, sister Jeanette Benson of Tifton, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
