Stephen Michael Goodson, 31, of Melbourne, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 4th, 2020. A celebration of life service will held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jon Nienhuis will officiate. He was born in Montgomery, AL, but spent most of his childhood in Panama City Beach, FL, he attended Arnold High School. After high school, Stephen spent one of the happiest years of his life in Hawaii with his brother Lee, who was stationed there. Stephen enlisted and served honorably in the U.S. Army, 10th Mountain Division. After his enlistment, he attended Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy. After graduation, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a law enforcement officer when he accepted a position with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Stephen loved spending his time fishing, hunting, going to the beach, and riding his motorcycle. He loved his family, friends, community, and his country. Even in his death, he continued through his service as an organ donor. Stephen is survived by his parents, Lana Wiggins Lane, of Crawfordville FL and John and Leigh Ann Goodson of McDonough, GA, brothers, John (Lee) Goodson, Spencer Goodson, Sawyer Goodson, sister Emma Goodson, grandmothers, Jimmie Wiggins Doyle, of Sylvester, GA and Elizabeth Henry Goodson of McDonough, GA; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his roommates Tammy “a.k.a Mama” and Lynn Marie “a.k.a Grandma”. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Ralph Lee Wiggins, W.R. Goodson, Colonel Joseph P. Doyle Jr. M.D. Retired U.S. Army Medical Corp, Uncle Marc Wiggins, and Aunt Robin Goodson.
