Mr. Richard Bruce Jones

Richard Bruce Jones, 79, died October 20, 2010 at Wilson Hospice House in Albany , Ga. , after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at Banks Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at three o’clock with Rev. Al Lewis officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester, Ga. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery . Bruce was born September 28, 1931 in Tempy, Ga. to the late Charles S. Jones, Sr. and Margaret Maddux Jones. He worked on the farm growing up alongside his brothers and sisters. He served four years in the U. S. Air Force after which he graduated from the University of Georgia. He was married to Jo Ann Johnston Jones for 52 years. They were the proud parents of two sons, Richard Bruce Jones, Jr. and Joe Johnston Jones. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe, his brothers, Charles, Ed, David and Gene and one sister Mary Ann Lowery. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann, his son Richard, brother Billy M. Jones, sisters Elise Feuer, Maurice Reese, Rosa Margaret Mitchell and Carol Hobby. Over the years he was affiliated with several pest control companies and was the owner operator of Bruce Jones Pest Control of Albany, Ga.
