Mrs. Mary Cromley Jeffords

Mrs. Mary Cromley Jeffords of Sylvester died Monday February 6, 2012 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday February 7, 2011 at the Hillcrest cemetery with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating, immediately following the services a reception will be held at Pinson Methodist Church Fellowship Hall where the family will receive friends. Mrs. Jeffords was born on September 11, 1917 to the late William Chapman and Myrtle Robertson Cromley in Brooklet, Georgia. She lived in Sylvester since 1940. Mrs. Jeffords received her BS in 1938 from Georgia Teachers College now Georgia Southern. She taught Georgia History for many years and later served as a school librarian. Mrs. Jeffords was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities through the years. Survivors include her daughters; Julia Jeffords Krulic and her husband Wesley Krulic of Savannah, Jane Jeffords Houston of Augusta; son David G. Jeffords, III of Macon; grandchildren, Julia Houston and Susan Houston both of Atlanta, David Jeffords, IV and Sara Jeffords of Macon; great-grandchildren, William Jeffords and Brady Jeffords; a sister-in-law LaVerne Jeffords. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jeffords was preceded in death by her husband David G. Jeffords, Jr., siblings; William Cromley and Dorothy Jenkins.
