Mrs. Mary Clements Grimsley Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Mary Ruth Clements Grimsley, 96, of Worth County, died on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at her residence with many loved ones present. The graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Jane Masters, and Rev. Nick Arbogast will officiate. Mrs. Grimsley was born on August 11, 1925 in Lowndes County and then adopted from the Methodist Children's Home in Macon, Georgia by the late Tylocus Asbury, and Callie Lillian Long Clements. She lived in Worth County, Georgia the rest of her life post adoption and was a graduate of Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Grimsley taught school in the Worth County School System where she retired after thirty-one years of service. She enjoyed singing and gardening, but most importantly spending time with her friends, family, grandchildren and one great grandson. Mrs. Grimsley was a born again Christian and a dedicated member of Beulah United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sons, Jerry Grimsley (Sandra), and John Grimsley (Jane); grandchildren, Christopher Grimsley (Lauren), and Matthew Grimsley and great grandson, Knox Grimsley. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grimsley was preceded in death by her sister Mildred Clements Booker, on October 16, 2001 and her husband, William Gerald Grimsley Sr., on September 15, 2006. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
