Mr. Kenneth Lamar Hitt, Sr., 68, of Sylvester, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at his residence. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Sylvester Church of Christ. The Rev. Darrell Allen, and Mr. Billy Culpepper will officiate. Mr. Hitt was born on January 6, 1953 in Moultrie, GA., to the late Grady and Betty Jo Turner Hitt. He had lived Worth County most of his life and was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hitt was retired from M & M Mars in 2006 and later retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base in 2018, where he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, watching Nascar, and fishing at Mexico Beach. Mr. Hitt loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Sylvester Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Carol Hitt of Sylvester; children, Kenny Hitt, Jr., of Myrtle Beach SC., Megan H. Paulk (Ryan), and Joseph Hitt (Summer) all of Sylvester; grandchildren, Jackson Hitt, Mabrey Hitt, Reagan Paulk, and Ryleigh Paulk; siblings, Tommy Hitt, Sr., Tricia Roberts (Tommy), Gary Hitt (Angela), Lisa Deal (Leeo), Irene McKellar (Jerry), Betty Cone (Dale), and Missy Culpepper (Billy); a host of nieces and nephews; aunt, Barbara Hobbs. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association, mbara.org The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
