Mrs. Kay Washington

Mrs. Kay Washington, 69 of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Evergreen Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Brooks will officiate. Mrs. Washington was born on February 29, 1952 in Columbus, GA., to the late James A. and Maude Nell Spence Snipes. She had lived in Worth County for the past 34 years and was the owner and operator of Kay's Kut and Kurl in Sylvester. Mrs. Washington enjoyed spending time with her dog "Red", cooking, fishing and visiting her best friend Mary Ann West, but most importantly spending time with her family. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, Jamie Forehand of Enterprise ,Al and Michael Odum of Sylvester; grandchildren, Shelley Drinkard (Joe),Stephen Forehand (Leeann) and Hannah Hakimov; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Donna Reynolds and Elaine Hunt; A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband, George Turner Washington on August 16, 2018.
