Mr. Jimmy Dewey Hudson

Mr. Jimmy Dewey Hudson, 74 of Sylvester, died on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Cargle will officiate. Mr. Hudson was born on June 3, 1946 in Worth County, GA. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Hudson retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base, as Captain of the Fire Department. He wore many hats over the course of his life, including an EMT, and later became the Director of Phoebe EMS. Mr. Hudson enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Janice Roberts Hudson of Sylvester; sons, Al Hudson (Ginger) of Blue Ridge, GA., and Rev. Wade Hudson (Lorraine) of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Bo Hudson, Cole Hudson and Matthew Hudson; brothers, Larry Hudson (Lucinda), and Rock Hudson (Lisa) all of Sylvester; sisters, Barbara Hudson of Sylvester, and Linda Kirk (Gene) of Panama City, FL; mother, Dina Salter Hudson of Poulan; step-children, Pam Cravey (Tony) of Scooterville, Karey Godwin (Chad) of Adel, and Tim McFarland of Norman Park. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his father, Lemmie Eugene Hudson; his first wife, Patsy Dykes Hudson on April 12, 2014; brothers, Roger Dale Hudson, Jerry Hudson and a sister, Bettye Bozeman.
