Mr. Herbert LaWayne Cone

November 2, 1947 - January 24, 2021

Mr. Herbert LaWayne Cone, 73 of Poulan, died on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Northside Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Cargle and Rev. Donnie Wright will officiate. Mr. Cone was born on November 2, 1947 in Berrien County, GA., to the late Herbert Lee and Verma Lee Sutton Cone. He had lived in Worth County for the past 56 years and was retired from Firestone Distribution Center as a warehouse worker. Mr. Cone was a handyman, and enjoyed carpentry and spending time with his family. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Faye Cone of Poulan; children, Melissa Cone Gray (Joe) of TyTy, GA., and Robin L. Cone (Joe Finster) of Statesboro, GA; grandson, Dylan Gray of Valdosta; sisters, Donna Carol Goodwin of Poulan, Sue Sutton (Tim) of Tifton and Diane Brown (Manning) of Conway, S.C.; Step Mother, Frances Cone and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cone was preceded in death his siblings, Ferrell Cone in 2012, and Janice Chandler in 2020. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at Northside Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Mask and Social Distancing are encouraged.
