Mr. Grover Lashley

April 16, 1924 - January 19, 2022

Mr. Grover Lashley, 97, of Dougherty County, died on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Salem Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and Rev. Nick Arbogast will officiate. Mr. Lashley was born on April 16, 1924 in Chambers County, AL, to the late Glover and Ola Banks Lashley. He had lived in Worth County most of his life and was a retired farmer. Mr. Lashley was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Lashley was a member of the American Legion Post 30 in Albany. He had been a member of Salem Baptist Church since 1959, where he sang in the Choir over 40 years. Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Margie Apperson Lashley of Dougherty County; children, Charles Lashley (Nell) of Mitchell County, Audrey Bruner (Perry) of Acworth, GA., Celyse Champion of Crisp County, Alyse Pensala (Marvin) of Waukegan, IL., and Selena Sumner (Randy) of Worth County; 13 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lashley was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Young, and numerous siblings.
