Mr. Ernest Cleveland Willis

Mr. Ernest Cleveland Willis, 83, of Sylvester, died on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Pine Forest Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Trey Brown, and Dr. David Benton will officiate. Mr. Willis was born on November 20, 1938 in Worth County, to the late William Cleveland and Jewel Mayo Willis. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Mr. Willis was retired from the Lee County Board Of Commissioners, where he worked as the Building Inspector. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Willis was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Bearden Willis of Sylvester; children, Sandy Smith (Tim) of Coffee Springs, AL., and Shannon Willis (Julie) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Dr. Morgan Smith Greene (Kevin), Taylor Smith, Jesse Collins (Lauren), Journee Collins and Gracie Willis; great grandchild, Hudson Greene; sisters, Anne Welch and Latrelle Glover all of Sylvester. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Willis and Bobby Willis; brothers-in-law, Randall Glover, and Buddy Welch.
