Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Gwines

October 14, 1926 - February 9, 2021

Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Senkbeil Gwines, 94 of Gordy, died on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Mike DeLoach and Rev. Mike Carter will officiate. Mrs. Gwines was born on October 14, 1926 in Hart County, GA., to the late Willie and Icie Osborne Senkbeil. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Gwines enjoyed nature especially flowers and butterflies. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Gwines was a faithful member of Gordy New Bethel Baptist Church where she made the flower arrangements for many years and was very involved with homecoming committee, the prayer chain ministry and the Vacation Bible School. Survivors include her children, Susan Goff (Don) of Evans, GA., Ann McClure (Jimmy) of Parkerville, June Carter (Mike) of Gordy, Carole Hughes (Frederick) of Albany and Mark Gwines (Robin) of Gordy; grandchildren, Jennifer Gardner (Jeff), Michael Goff (Kathryn), Matt McClure, Leslie McClure, Michael Carter, Cara Hill, Rebecca Hughes, Shelvy Giddens (Kristi), Luke Gwines and Peyton Gwines; great-grandchildren, Aaron Gardner, Jeremy Gardner (Ashley), Marissa Gardner, Brayden Goff, Carter Goff, Ashton Goff, Carter Hill and Zachary Hill; great-great grandchildren, Makayla, Aria and Micah Gardner, Syrus and Kallie Giddens and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwines was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Gwines on February 26, 2003; siblings, Lucious Senkbeil, Louise Hanford, Ervin Senkbeil, George Senkbeil, N.S. Senkbeil and Jewell Adams. For those desiring memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
