Mrs. Betty Shouse Cook, 64, of Sylvester died Friday December 3, 2010 at The Willson Hospice House in Albany. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday December 5, 2010 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Skelton officiating. Mrs. Cook was born in Baldwyn, MS; to the late Dexter and Vadie Frederick Shouse. She had lived in Sylvester for the past 38 years. Mrs. Cook was formerly employed with Sylvester Primary school. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Betty and Gary celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on February 22, 2010. She was a member of the Sylvester Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Gary Cook of Sylvester; children, Anthony Cook of Cordele; Ashley Cook of Tifton; Jessica Cook of Sylvester; Tyler Cook of Augusta; grandchildren A.J. Cook & Alona Braley, sisters, Inez Carver of Atlanta; Pauline Pickett of Mavanna, AR; Mildred Skinner of Adel. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
