Mr. Arnold Lenwood Sutton Jr.

July 20, 1939 - January 31, 2022

Mr. Arnold Lenwood Sutton Jr., 82, of Scooterville, died on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church in Scooterville, Ga. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Bozeman will officiate. Mr. Sutton was born on July 20, 1939 in Scooterville, to the late Arnold Lenwood Sutton Sr., and Edna Arle Booth Sutton. He had lived in Worth County all of his life, and was a farmer. Mr. Sutton enjoyed farming, and attending Church, but most importantly spending time with his friends and family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. He was a faithful and lifelong member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church. He also held many offices within the church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Chapman Sutton of Scooterville; children, Kim Gilman (Donald) of Sylvester, Keith Sutton (Cindy) of Scooterville, and Krista Barfield (Greg) of Ellaville; grandchildren, Heather Fletcher (Matt), Ross Sutton (Callie), Shelby Sutton, Marley Sutton, and Blake Sutton (Marissa); great-grandchildren, Finley Fletcher, Walker Sutton Fletcher, Landon Sutton, and Stetson Sutton; siblings, Glenda Sutton Daniel, Joan Sutton Underwood, Mack Sutton (Judy), and Vonnie Sutton Newell (Tommy); and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
