Mrs. Annette Williams Duke Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Annette Williams Duke, 84, of Poulan, died on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Evergreen Baptist Church, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. Todd Brooks, and Dr. David Benton will officiate. Mrs. Duke was born on August 24, 1937 in Worth County, to the late Ernest and Mattie Blalock Williams. She had lived in Worth County all of her life, and was retired from the Marine Corps Logistics' Base in Albany, where she worked as a clerk for 20 years. Mrs. Duke enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing the board game "Aggravation", and fishing at Saint Johns River. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Duke was a dedicated member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Philip Duke (Brenda) of Poulan; grandchildren, Holly Holton, Anna Posey, Dawn Thompson (Ricky), Glenda Ragan and Amy Linville; grandchildren, Bristal Thompson (Dent), Jaiden Thompson (Cody Brooks), Cody Ragan, and Gage Linville; sisters, Imogean Gay, Margie Halstead and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, James Henry Duke on June 23, 2010; children, Brenda Barfield on January 8, 1998, and Richard Duke on December 22, 2008; siblings, W.L. "Buck" Williams, and Ralph Williams. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at Evergreen Baptist Church.
