Travis Daniel Hughes

After 17 trips around the sun, Travis Daniel Hughes, of Sylvester, GA, entered the Heavenly arms of Jesus on September 10, 2023. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at First Baptist Church Of Sylvester, interment will follow in the Isabella Cemetery. Dr. Jason Jones will officiate. Gracing the world on January 18, 2006, Travis was the joy of his parents’, Paul and Maria Hughes, lives. With his infectious laugh, perpetual smile and over-the-top personality, a kinder, more compassionate, more generous soul will never be met. Travis loved his family and friends with enormous capacity and strength. He was an only child by birth but had many brothers and sisters who loved him just as passionately, and he was never seen without one or more of them. Travis was enthusiastic about all things outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or just hanging with friends by the pool or a bonfire. He never met a stranger and would often engage people just to make them smile or laugh, always ready to lend a hand or a hug, whatever the situation called for. His spirit was just too vast to ever be contained within one circle of friends, that’s why he had many. Travis was a go-getter of hobbies that ranged from sports to music, to jokes. He could often be seen riding his skateboard through Sylvester from one adventure to the next before he got his driver’s license and his beloved truck. If there was an event happening, no matter the size or location, you would find Travis there, cheering the loudest, dressed the craziest, and showing his spirit for the team. As a member of Isabella Baptist Church, Travis participated in Youth activities and would help the Brotherhood in their ramp building endeavors, always ready to spread the love of Jesus however he could. “Trapper,” as he was affectionately called by family, had big plans for his future after graduating, being in the class of 2024. He had dreams of becoming a welder and traveling. He was excited to begin the next chapter of his life seeing places and experiencing new things so he could share all the details with his family and friends. This magnificent person will be missed by everyone who encountered him, no matter the length of time. He is survived by his parents, Paul Hughes and Maria Hughes; his grandparents, Ron and Sue Rodriguez, Sharon F. Hughes, and Doug and Pegi Hughes; his aunts and uncles, McGee Strickland, Daniel Rodriguez, Reahana Rodriguez, Andrew and Kellie Hughes, Lenna Kirksey, Jason Semrau, and Gail Phillips; along with great aunts, uncles and many close cousins. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home. The loved ones who were waiting for him in Heaven are his uncle’s Travis Dale Hughes and Jason Willis Strickland.
