Mr. Edward "Bob" Fordham

Mr. Bobby Edward Fordham "Bob", 75, of Crawfordville, FL died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday May 19, 2012 at Evergreen Baptist Church, 1702 Evergreen Road, Sylvester, Georgia, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following in the Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Fordham was born on January 29, 1937 to the late Safo Douglas & Edna Pauline Frances Fordham and was reared on a small farm in Rentz, Georgia. He joined the United States Air Force as a Weather Observer in August, 1955. He quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant and transferred to London, England. Mr. Fordham's tour of duty in England was only two years, but an experience he would never forget after growing up on a small farm in Georgia. He married his sweetheart Shirley Faye Carter on April 3, 1958. On October 10, 1963, he returned to the United States to live once again in his home state of Georgia. After being discharged from the United States Air Force, Mr. Fordham had a variety of jobs; he managed a small grocery store in Albany, Georgia, worked as an electronics expert in Jacksonville, Florida, managed a Stand n' Snack store in downtown Tallahassee and one on the campus of Florida State University (FSU), managed a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant near FSU, worked in construction, and finally retired as an Inspector from Talquin Electric in Tallahassee. In 1971, Mr. Fordham moved his wife and children to Wakulla County where he lived until his death on May 12, 2012. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carter Fordham of Crawfordville, FL; children, Doug Fordham ( Lori) of Fayetteville, NC, Leisha Fordham and Tara Galinos of Tallahassee, FL, Sid Fordham (Sherry) of Crawfordville, FL, Theresa Fuller (Jim) of Montrose, CO; sister, Jean Fellows of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Mickey Fordham of Houston, TX, Larry Fordham of El Paso, TX, Johnny Fordham of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Aubree Tupper, Colby Fordham, Lucas Fordham, Amber Miller, Christy Hodge, Charity Amenta, Brianna Fordham, Ashlea Boutwell and Jacob Fuller; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Viola Rae Tupper, Stihl and Stone Miller, Brody Hodge, Gabriel Amenta and long-time companion Hillary. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fordham is preceded in death by his brother, Carroll Fordham. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 AM until service hour at the church.
