Mrs. Marguerite Williams Gillespie

Mrs. Marguerite Williams Gillespie, 95, of Sylvester died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her home at 501 E. Price Street, Sylvester. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Sylvester with interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Earnie Pirkle will officiate. Mrs. Williams was born February 21, 1922 in Elba, AL to the late Shelley Archus Bryan and Victoria Kilcrease Bryan. She had lived in Sylvester since 1955. Mrs. Williams worked for many years as an Insurance Agent with American General. She was also a busy homemaker raising her and Wilburn's eight children. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Marguerite was a very active member of the community and the First Baptist Church. As a member of the Women's Missionary Union, she led the Patsy Lawton circle. She was member of the ABC senior adult group, senior choir and Bykota Sunday school class. Mrs. Williams loved gardening, traveling, cooking and entertaining friends and family. Survivors include her children, Wilburn H. "Sonny" Williams, Jr. (Johnnie) of Fort Pierce, FL, Margaret Elizabeth "Libby" Hutto, of Marianna, FL, Sandra Jo Lesniak (Rodger), of Huntsville, AL, Judy Carol Clark (Buddy) of Flowery Branch, GA, David Bryan Williams (Jeff) of Sylvester, GA, Richard Lane "Rick" Williams, of Biloxi, MS, Victoria Jane "Vicki" Edwards (Steve) of Grayson, GA, and Lt Gen Robert Scott Williams (Diana) of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Michael Hutto (Kelley), Mark Hutto (Tina), Angela Haile (Vince), Dawn London (Alton), Will and Jennifer Clark, Blake Williams (Baylee), Corey Edwards (Vanessa), Kevin Edwards, Luke, Anna and Grace Williams, Curt and Jon Peacock; great-grandchildren, Mitchel Hutto (Brittney), Jillian Hutto, Ashleigh and Jake Hinesley, Kayleigh Edwards, Sam and Joe Hutto, Drew, Jordan, Hunter, and Tanner Peacock; great-great-grandchildren, Emma Elizabeth Hutto, Bryce Peacock. She was preceded by her husband, Wilburn Hubert Williams, Sr. on July 4, 1989 and her second husband, Frank Cummings Gillespie on October 25, 2003 and a Great Grandchild, Nicholas Harold Hutto. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 30, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
