Mr. Jaxon Acie Singletary

Jaxon Acie Singletary was granted his angel wings on October 26, 2015, following a lifelong journey with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. His final days were spent with family watching cartoons and playing video games, coloring and playing with playdoh, and getting plenty of cuddle time and massages from his parents. Jaxon's life would seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by him, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and he was never at a lost for questions for the world intrigued him. Although Jaxon's defect made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours watching cartoons and shows, looking through YouTube videos, and playing video games, while cuddling close to those he loved so much. He loved many cartoons and all superheroes, just as any young boy would. The characters inspired him so deeply that he would often change his persona; one day he would be Sonic the Hedgehog and the next Spiderman. He was a chameleon in his own way as he was forever changing his identity, for he understood life is too short to be only one character on this stage called life. He enjoyed spending time playing and learning at the library, getting snow cones on warm summer days, and Chinese lunch dates with his Mother. Even with the ability to eat any kind and as much Chinese food as wanted, there was always room for pizza, mac and cheese, and sweat tea. With Jaxon's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated, although we will miss him everyday, especially his winning smile, he will always remain forever in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be a part of his life. We are so thankful to all those family and friends who were able to spend time and make memories with him. Thousands of people have followed his story since he was born and he touched so many lives in so many different ways. Jaxon leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Jaxon's love extends to his wonderful nurses, doctors, and other healthcare providers. Through their continual dedication, love and support, Jaxon was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. All of these special people, too numerous to mention provided Jaxon with love and dignity in his life and also in his death. Jaxon is survived by his loving parents, Shane Singletary and Lilac Lumpkin, Stepfather Michael Lumpkin, Siblings Emilie, Matthew, and Ryan Lumpkin; Paternal Grandparents Diane and William Singletary, Pauline Singletary, and Great Grandfather Edward Powell; Maternal Grandparents Violet & David Hamilton, Barnie and Rebecca Abbot; countless adoring Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. He was predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather Les Lee. Visiting hours are to be held Thursday October 29, 2015, from 5-7 pm at Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester, Georgia. Funeral will be Friday October 30, 2015 at 11 am. There will be a graveside service following the funeral at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton, Georgia. We ask that you come in any attire you are comfortable in; blue jeans and superhero or cartoon shirts that Jaxon enjoyed are encouraged.
